Self Care that Cares

Weekly Spotlight Series | Week of April 27th

Spending time and money on a solid health care routine can seem daunting. Especially in the days of store closures and IG ads. Let’s face it, there’s a lot out there for your face, your body and your mind. So, in true Nav.it nature, we’ve been sourcing out the products that are actually paying our money forward. Sure, in times of COVID-19, that may be easier than expected, but finding sustainable products that also don’t break the budget is our key to a great self-care routine.

Leading us to today’s spotlight… Meet True Moringa.

True Moringa

True Moringa is a small skincare company out of Boston. They work with over 5000 farmers in Ghana to produce products made from the Moringa tree. Moringa oil is similar to the oil your skin produces naturally, so it helps to bring balance to oily or combination skin, and it’s packed with vitamins, nutrients, and unique fatty acids to nourish and protect dry skin long after application. Best of all, it goes on silky smooth – unlike heavier oils, it won’t clog pores or leave you feeling greasy. Apply daily to help minimize the appearance of scars, stretch marks and signs of premature aging while restoring balance.

What we (also) love about TM? They are SUPER transparent. Their distribution is mapped out for you right from their homepage. We’d love to see Neutrogena do that!

COVID-19 Response

While they are still a small, growing business, True Moringa was early to act to support frontline healthcare workers. They joined the #BeMeQuarantine campaign and donated 120 products to the staff at Cambridge Health Alliance. In May they’re teaming up with Elements Truffles to donate 20% of all proceeds from their Mother’s Day Gift Box to female head porters in the markets of Accra, Ghana who have lost their homes due to COVID-19.

Our Take

True Moringa is doing what they do best to support workers near and far. They’ve been able to leverage partnerships to provide aid to those most affected by COVID-19 and they’ve weaved this support into the fabric of their mission. Lastly, they’ve set up a robust tracking feature on their website to indicate how many they are directly impacting with their COVID response. Brilliant.

If you’re a small cosmetic business looking to service your community, check out the True Moringa model. Better yet, send us an email at hello@navitmoney.com to let us know what you’re planning for.
