Humans Vs. COVID-19 | Weekly Wins #3

Wins from the Week of April 5th

Every day seems to be a battle in the fight to defeat COVID-19. And yet, each day we hear new stories of the best of humanity. Stories that give us hope, stories that make us laugh, stories that remind us that we humans are still capable of love, kindness, and compassion. So, our team thought we’d highlight those “wins” each week. No matter how big or small, if it was a win for you, it was a win for us. We’ve got this.

Wins From Home

Celebs are doing their part. Alright, so we’re not always known as your celebrity news source, but this week we’re super happy to report celebrities are coming out in droves to support COVID-19 relief efforts. From Tyler Perry’s angel status to Dorsey’s $1 Billion (with a B) pledge, we’re seeing the best out of those high net worth peeps we love to follow.

Email Exchanges. Many are taking to email to unite their flocks of friends. From poem to recipe exchanges, our emails are getting the pick-me-up they deserve to send a little love to strangers near and far.

Finding New Skillzz: I was right, new skills are coming at us in droves. We’re keeping up this theme by sharing new skills found by Nav.igators each and every week. Some of our Nav.igators are taking to their computers to learn some rather lucrative new skills. Here’s how to code like a pro.

Wins from Afar

British farming is on point. This uber-talented farmer in the UK gave the perfect tribute to his national healthcare workers on the frontlines. Tractor-art lesson anyone?

Cheerio there, neighbor! This brilliant British family took to their exterior walls to bring a little color to their local ‘hood. Between this story and that one of the farmer above, we’re quickly thinking the Brits know how to bring it in times of crisis.

Global pandemic status is good news? This latest finding shows that millions of people have likely been infected over the weeks since we first learned of COVID-19. Which means the virus must actually be much less deadly than our data suggests.

The canals are clear! While there hasn’t been much great news coming from our Italian friends recently, at least we can rejoice in knowing the Venician canals are the clearest they’ve been in over a generation. Huzzah.

Wins From the Frontlines

The Battleground of Mountain Towns: This home-grown apparel brand is helping support mountain towns most effect by COVID-19. Pivoting from bike shorts to facemasks is no easy feat for even the largest of brands, yet the team at Wild Rye is ready for a new challenge!

Have a personal or professional win that you’re proud of? No matter how big or small, we want to celebrate it. These are the stories that will get us through this thing with a little more compassion, a little more inspiration, a little more resilience each and every day.
